Chef AJ has been cooking professionally for over a decade, training in Michelin-starred kitchens and collaborating with celebrity chefs around the world. Along the way, he has cooked for diplomats, appeared on Top Chef Canada, and even owned and operated his own restaurant in Toronto.
Private Plates began in Toronto during the pandemic, when families still craved restaurant-quality meals at home. What started as cooking for a few households grew into a service delivering chef-crafted weekly meal prep, private dinners, and catering for intimate events. After relocating to Vancouver, AJ expanded Private Plates with the same mission: to bring healthy, globally inspired, family-style meals to busy families, weddings, and special occasions across the Lower Mainland.
